Does Wafer Paper Thickness Matter? A Quick Breakdown.

When it comes to knowing which wafer paper thickness would work best for you, it’s good to first really think about what you’re looking to accomplish.
Do you need it to be more malleable or be able to hold up more against moisture? Is it primarily going to be for printing images or will it mostly be used to form different shapes? Questions like these are exactly why paper2eat Wafer Paper comes in different thicknesses; different needs equal different sheets.

Let’s break it down. Basically, paper2eat Wafer Paper comes in 3 thicknesses and 2 flavors. There’s the 0.30 mm Wafer Paper Standard, the 0.40 mm Wafer Paper Standard Plus, and the 0.60 mm Wafer Paper Premium.

Our 0.60 mm Wafer Paper Premium is thicker when compared to our 0.40 mm Wafer Paper Standard Plus and our 0.30 mm Wafer Paper Standard. It’s thicker, more durable and less likely to tear, which makes it ideal for creating larger, more substantial decorations. It can hold its shape better and is more suitable for creating decorations that require some rigidity or printed images. It can handle more moisture (like buttercream) than the 0.30 mm and the 0.40 mm paper.

Our 0.30 mm Wafer Paper Standard is thinner, more delicate and translucent; and it’s easier to cut, shape and fold which makes it ideal for creating delicate, intricate decorations. Our 0.40 mm Wafer Paper Standard Plus is somewhere in between that malleable and sturdy spectrum. It’s for those who need something sturdier than the 0.30 mm paper, but more malleable than the 0.60 mm. In fact, if someone is a bit unfamiliar with wafer paper and doesn’t know which thickness to go with, the standard plus may be a good starting point. It would help the decorator get a sense of whether they’d need more flexibility (with thinner paper) or more sturdiness (with thicker paper).

We have all the same paper thicknesses available both in plain and vanilla. Plain basically tastes like nothing, and vanilla has a very subtle vanilla taste. Hope this quick overview on paper2eat Wafer Paper thickness helps you understand the importance of choosing the thickness based on your specific decorating needs.
