How To: Print With No Borders Around the Edges

Did you know you could print your images without any borders with this one printer setting? We used our 8.5" by 11" Frosting Sheets for this example, but these instructions also apply to any of our other edible papers.

We’ve seen quite a few videos from several people printing on our sheets and applying them to their cakes, and we noticed through conversations and comments that the "borderless" setting wasn’t common knowledge. We also noticed that they tend to unintentionally print their images with margins (white borders) and would then cut the non-printed excess paper at the edges. This is easily solvable, but not everyone knows about borderless printing; so let’s change that!

It's simple. On that last screen that shows up with your print settings right before you print your image, select the paper size you're printing on (in this case it's 8.5 by 11) and choose the "borderless" option as shown in the picture above. This will cause your image to print edge to edge with no unused space.

Selecting your sheet dimension is one thing, but unless you explicitly select "borderless" (which tells your printer not to print with margins), it will intentionally print your image away from the edges by default. Your print settings screen may look different from one device to another (this was on a Mac), but you should be able to locate the borderless option in your settings right before you print.

Here's a reel from our IG page showing you how easy this is:

So the next time you print pretty patterns or designer brand prints to wrap your cakes for example, select "borderless" to print all the way to the edge and maximize that space! 😊
