Let's Make This 'Love Is In The Air' Paper Plane Cake! ✈️💕

Valentine’s Day is here! If you’re looking for a last-minute idea that is thoughtful, adorable, and has a unique charm to it, this 'Love Is In The Air' DIY Paper Plane Cake will do it for you. This design is a throwback to a cake Sasha @saucybakes made that we never quite got over! A fun, high-impact design that immediately catches the eye.

Materials You’ll Need:

Step 1: Apply Your Base

Apply a fresh, smooth layer of pink buttercream to your cake. This creates the perfect vibrant canvas for your edible paper planes.

Step 2: Design and Print Your Planes

Search for "paper plane drawings" online and print whichever ones you'd like (or create your own art using a tool like Canva). Once you have your designs ready, print them directly onto your paper2eat Frosting Sheets using our edible ink in your edible ink printer.

Side note: If you don't have a printer or you want to go full manual, you could always just use a black edible ink marker to draw the paper plane shapes directly on a Frosting Sheet.

Step 3: Cut Your Toppers

Carefully cut out your printed plane designs using clean scissors. They'll be lightweight and incredibly easy to handle.

Step 4: Press and Go

Gently press your printed planes onto the side of your cake. They'll stick securely to the fresh buttercream. (If needed, use a tiny bit of water on the back of the image to help adhere.)

Step 5: The Finishing Touches

Now for the magic! Apply some sprinkle mix surrounding the cake and going around the paper planes. Pipe a dashed "flight path" between the planes using a small tip. Swirl the dashed lines into a couple of heart shapes for that romantic touch.

Step 6: Add Some Sprinkly Swirls

Finish the look by piping a few pink "cloud" swirls on top, and applying extra sprinkle mix to your heart's desire. And you’re done!
