The Ultimate Cake Idea for Bookworms! 😍📚

Love books or know someone who does? Here's something you don't see every day. Printing tiny book covers of all the books you read on Frosting Sheets and placing them all around a cake. Well Dawn Darla Markley (Instagram/ TikTok: @baked.by_dawn) did just that!

She took the time to do this cool thing where she printed out 132 small book covers of all the books she read in the past year on some of our Frosting Sheets, applied them to her cake in the most spectacular way...and it turned out MAGICAL!

📖 This design definitely may not be for every cake artist because it definitely can take a while to place all of the tiny edible books, but any bookworm receiving a cake like this will absolutely be pleased!

✍ You could do this too by:
1. Searching up images of the person’s favorite books.

2. Printing the book covers on our Frosting Sheets with edible ink.

3. Applying the book covers on fondant and sticking them into a buttercream cake.

✹ EXTRA TIPS:

A. When applying the edible prints of the book covers to fondant, start at the center of the prints and gently smooth it out towards the edges. You can use your hands to smooth it out and to softly pot out any bubbles or wrinkles, then press down gently to make sure the image sticks.

B. To make the sheets adhere to the fondant, it's helpful to use a light spray or a brush of edible adhesive. Here are some options you can consider:

-Water: Lightly mist or brush the back of the sheet with water. This helps it stick to the fondant but should be done sparingly to avoid making the sheet too soggy.

-Corn Syrup: Mixing corn syrup with a little water can create a sticky paste. Brush this on the fondant before placing the sheet.

-Edible Glue: There are edible glues out there specifically designed for adhering sugar decorations. This is a reliable option if you're looking for a strong bond.

-Shortening: A thin layer of shortening can also help adhere the sheet to the fondant.
